Blue Titan applies aeronautical technology and artificial intelligence for use in mining
Blue Ocean, in partnership with Altair, has developed an innovative equipment for the filling of extra -examined vehicle tires in mining, using simulation technology and artificial intelligence originally applied in the aeronautical sector.
The so -called Blue Titan allows the calibration and filling of large and remote large tires, eliminating risks to operators and meeting international safety standards such as NR22 and NR12.
The equipment is designed for one of the largest mining companies in Brazil and already demonstrates potential for global application. 12 meters long, 12 meters wide and nine meters high – the same distance between the ground and the cockpit of a Boeing 747 – the Blue Titan is fed by electrical and hydraulic systems and is filled with a single tire in 15 to 45 minutes
The operation is remotely monitored, ensuring that no worker remains in the risk zone during filling. One of the main challenges of this process is the potential energy accumulated inside the tire. Structural failures can release this energy abruptly, resulting in explosions of great magnitude.
Blue Titan incorporates a reinforced structure with composite materials such as kevlar and fiberglass, also widely used in the air sector, which offer superior resistance and weight reduction compared to metal solutions. The equipment bonnet weighs 2.5 tons, allowing better maneuverability without compromising safety.
In addition to physical protection, the system records technical data from each filling, enabling audits, event tracking and continuous safety protocol improvement. Technology, defined by Blue Ocean as “Aero Derivatives”, adapts concepts of the aeronautical segment to meet high -risk industrial sectors, such as mining, transportation and logistics.
The solution represents an advance in industrial automation applied to extreme environments and reinforces the aviation technology transfer movement to other critical areas of the economy.
