Innovation and Design Center promises to accelerate solution development and improve flight experience
Bombardier has announced today (7), the inauguration of the Innovation and Design Center in Montreal, Canada, a hub dedicated exclusively to innovation and design jet design.
The initiative reinforces Bombardier’s strategy to keep the customer close during product development. The goal is to accelerate the creation and implementation of continuous improvements throughout its aircraft line.
Multidisciplinary Hub for Innovations
Positioned alongside the factories in Montreal, the Innovation and Design Center is a multidisciplinary space that will function independently of traditional development programs.
Equipped with real -scale mockups, prototypes and specialized resources, the hub will allow greater agility to test and introduce innovations in the market.
Maximum confidentiality
Under rigid confidentiality, teams formed by designers, engineers, artisans, upholors and prototyists will act in the research and iteration of new ideas. The proposal is to redefine patterns in the aerospace industry and improve the experience of business jet users.
According to Bombardier, this innovation model has already been successfully applied to the development of interiors of Global 7500 and the Challenger 3500 cabin.
Innovation as a competitive differential
For Éric Martel, president and CEO of Bombardier, innovation is essential to maintain competitiveness in the sector. “The new structure reinforces our commitment to the delivery of top quality products,” he said.
Sean Johnson, vice president of innovation at aircraft, stressed that the “out of the critical route” environment will allow ideas to reality and establish a new level for the industry.
