Moritz Claussen, the founder and co-chief executive of cargo booking platform, cargo.one, has received The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) Rising Star Award.

Presented at TIACA’s recent executive summit in Hong Kong, the award recognises Claussen’s standout contribution to advancing digitalisation and efficiency in the air cargo industry.

Through innovation, leadership and a collaborative spirit, Claussen has helped reshape how airlines and freight forwarders interact and conduct business.

Since launching cargo.one in 2017 alongside co-founders Oliver Neumann and Mike Rötgers, Claussen has championed the adoption of digital tools across the industry.

His efforts have included years of advocacy and education for airline and freight forwarding teams globally – empowering stakeholders to unlock the full potential of digital infrastructure.

The TIACA Rising Star Award is a recognised benchmark for next-generation excellence, honouring emerging leaders who drive meaningful, future-focused change in air cargo.

Claussen said on receiving the award: “It is a great honour, especially in light of the many leaders and innovations across the ecosystem. This award is really a reflection of the work our team performs every day to build a digitally integrated global air cargo community that puts freight customers first.

“It gives me great joy to see first-hand that digital freight today is firmly established as a cornerstone of the industry, and is delivering powerful benefits. We are more energised and focused than ever to deliver a new era in connected global air cargo.”

Glyn Hughes, director general of Tucasaid: “Moritz’s passion, dedication and delivery reflect the best of what this award stands for – measurable industry impact, user-driven innovation, and the ability to inspire.

“Air logistics is at its heart a people-business, and Moritz continually builds relationships, enthuses and mobilises stakeholders at all levels to effect meaningful change.”

Today, cargo.one has 25,000 users within the majority of the top 20 global forwarders and thousands of SMBs, and is available in 134 countries worldwide.

The platform is partnered with carriers that represent 75% of global capacity, and offers a full range of customisable, enterprise-ready digital solutions for all aspects of end-to-end procurement, sales and booking.
