CommuteAir, a United Express partner, has signed a new MRO contract with Embraer to support its fleet of Embraer aircraft.
The work will be carried out at Embraer’s recently opened commercial aviation MRO facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas.
Lon Ziegler, CommuteAir’s vice president of technical operations, said: “CommuteAir is pleased to strengthen its partnership with Embraer by commencing heavy airframe maintenance at its new facility in Fort Worth. By working with our aircraft OEM, we will support our goals of ensuring the highest reliability for our ERJ145 fleet.”
Frank Stevens, vice president MRO services at Embraer Services & Support, said: “This contract with CommuteAir is an important milestone for Embraer. We will provide best-in-class support for CommuteAir and reduce downtime.
“We have a long-term relationship with CommuteAir, and today we are starting a new chapter with this new facility.”
CommuteAir operates over 200 daily flights using 59 Embraer ERJ145s for United Airlines. Additionally, CommuteAir offers charter services with an Embraer E170 under its own brand.
Headquartered in suburban Cleveland, CommuteAir has major hubs at Houston Intercontinental and Washington Dulles airports.
The company also operates maintenance hangars in Houston, TX and Albany, N.Y.
