Iceland-based regional airline Mýflug has announced that it will no longer operate scheduled, charter or sightseeing flights with immediate effect.
Medivac flights are not believed to be affected.
The airline was established in 1985 and flew to a number of remote airports around the country as the Icelandic government subsidised the routes.

In 2023 Mýflug merged Eagle Air, another regional carrier, into its business. However, trading conditions remained challenging and an announcement was made that the airline was to cease regular passenger operations was made on its website on June 25 2025, after 40 years of service.
At the point of cessation, Mýflug operated four aircraft, two Beechcraft Super King Air and two Cessna 206.
