JoJo Swa continues to open up about her sexuality!
As Perezcious readers know, the 22-year-old singer previously identified as lesbian after coming out in 2021. But her time on Celebrity Big Brother UK this year, where she struck up an extremely flirty relationship with her now-boyfriend Chris Hughes while she was dating Kath Ebbswas eye-opening. She realized she identifies as “queer,” a term used by those who feel their sexuality goes beyond heterosexual but does not strictly align with homosexual.

Now, JoJo is providing more insight into her sexuality again after going official with the Love Island UK hunk last month. She expressed to AND! News on Friday:
“I think the most beautiful term now is queer. I think queer is an umbrella of, ‘Look, I’m just me.’ And I think the most beautiful thing about the LGBTQIA community is love is love. And that goes both ways. There’s loads of beautiful, different sexualities. Sexuality and queerness is a lovely rainbow that has all different places, and it also has places on this rainbow that we don’t even know exist yet.”
And if anyone wants to criticize her about it, or her relationship with Chris, she doesn’t care! She is likely talking to you, Miley Cyrus! LOLz! At this point, JoJo doesn’t feel like she needs to explain herself:
“I feel so in the right position for myself. I feel so content with my happiness. I feel so relaxed and at ease with where I’m at. I feel so happy and peaceful that the love that I feel is so real. You can’t really help who you fall in love with.”
The Dance Moms alum’s romance with Chris is what helped her learn “there’s no right or wrong way to be you.” She continued:
“What I realized with Christopher is I never have second guessed my feelings for him. Therefore, I’ve never second guessed my happiness, I’ve never second guessed what I’m feeling. And I think that’s the most beautiful thing. When I think about him, I’m full of pure joy. When I speak about him, I’m full of pure joy.”
We applaud JoJo for being so transparent about her sexuality and gender identity! It’s amazing to see! If only the whole thing with Chris was handled better so that her former partner did not get hurt and feel “humiliated” in the process, though… Oof. Reactions, Perezcious readers?
