LATAM starts route between Fortaleza and Juazeiro do Norte, with daily flights in high season
Latam Airlines began last Monday (23) the operation of the new route between Fortaleza and Juazeiro do Norte, in southern Ceará. The inaugural flight recorded 95% occupation, reflecting the strong demand for aerial connections in the Cariri region, according to the company.
The new connection is made with aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, with capacity for up to 180 passengers. During the high season, the flights will occur daily. From August, the frequency will move to four weekly flights – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Although the operation was initially foreseen until October, Latam confirmed that the route will be maintained regularly, with no set date for closing.
According to Latam, the route aims to meet the growing tourist and commercial movement in Juazeiro do Norte, considered a logistics and service hub in the northeast. The company stresses that the new operation integrates its strategy of expanding regional connectivity and contributing to the economic development of Ceará.
From Fortaleza, the company connects the capital of Ceará to thirteen national destinations, totaling more than 150 weekly flights. In addition, it maintains other routes in the state, such as Juazeiro do Norte – Sao Paulo (GRU) and Jericoacoara – São Paulo (GRU), both with about ten frequencies per week.
In the international market, the company operates flights from Fortaleza to Miami (MIA), twice a week, and to Lisbon, the latter in seasonal operation until October 20.
