Mark 3 International expands warehousing capacity at JFK

by Marcelo Moreira

Cross-border logistics and e-commerce parcel management company, Mark 3 International, has expanded its warehousing capacity at New York’s JFK Airport with a new, 12,000 sqft facility in response to an increase in current business and new opportunities.

The new warehouse will become operational on 1 July 2025 and will be used as a processing facility for import and export volumes as well as fulfilment (pallet storage).

David Taylor, global commercial director at Mark 3 International, said: “Our import business into the US has increased significantly over the last few years, and despite recent turbulence we have seen a surge in the number of new business opportunities. Taken together, the decision to build new capacity was easy.”

Matthew Ware, Mark 3 International’s chief executive, said: “This is really just the start. We have even more ambitious growth plans, including opening a similar facility at LAX airport in Los Angeles in the next 18 months.

“Expanding capacity and capability on the east and west coasts allows us to handle more imports into the US from both Asia and EMEA.”

The boost to warehousing capacity follows recent new staff appointments which is aligned with the company’s strategic expansion in UK/US e-commerce logistics to wider geographical markets.

Ware added: “The recent changes, combined with this extra capacity at a critical trade hub, gives us the platform for rapidly extending our service offering to a much wider audience. Further capacity expansion on the US West Coast will complete the infrastructure picture.

“However, the final part of the equation will be when we upgrade our internal systems to cope with this ambitious growth plan. Then we will have the systems, processes, and structures in place to support a truly global operation.”

Mark 3 International was formed in 1990 and has warehousing and clearance facilities at London Heathrow and JFK in New York.
