The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) participated in the Royal International Air Tattoo 2025, one of Europe’s largest military air shows. The delegation landed at the Raf Fairford base in Gloucestershire in southwest England, with JF-17 Thunder Block-III and a C-130 Hercules fighters.

PAF has highlighted the operational capabilities and the development of the Pakistan aeronautical industry, which has made constant progress in recent decades.

During the travel to the UK, the JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighters performed air replenishment operations with the support of an Illyushin IL-78, also allowing the military training on long-range flights on prolonged missions outside the Pakistani territory.

The JF-17 Block-III is a 4.5th generation multifunction fighter, equipped with Aesa radar and long-range BVR missiles. Designed to perform a wide range of combat missions, the model reinforces the application of Pakistan air power in contemporary scenarios. Although it still has some limitations, facing its western peers, the JF-17 has made constant progress since its first flight.

The presence of PAF at RIAT occurs amid international interest in JF-17 Thunder, whose operational capabilities have attracted attention from some countries, especially in Africa and Latin America, by a combat aircraft with good capacity and low cost.
