US-based lessor Regional One has doubled its order of E190F passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions from two to four and named Bridges Air Cargo as the launch operator.
The company announced the expansion at the 2025 Paris Air Show. Bridges Air Cargo plans to introduce the first of the jets into its fleet in Q3 2025.
Embraer developed the E-Freighter, based on the E190 platform, to meet the rising demands of e-commerce and modern logistics, which require fast deliveries and decentralised networks.
The aircraft aims to fill a gap in the air cargo market and replace older, less efficient models. According to Embraer, E-Jets converted to freighters offer over 40% more volume capacity, triple the range of large cargo turboprops, and up to 30% lower operating costs than larger narrowbodies.
When combining underfloor and main-deck capacity, the jet can carry a maximum structural payload of 13,500kg.
George Mamangakis, Regional One’s chief investment officer, said: “We’re expanding our freighter fleet with two additional Embraer E-Freighters to better serve the growing demand for efficient, flexible, and sustainable cargo solutions. This strategic move reinforces our strong partnership with Embraer and highlights our shared focus on innovation, performance, and operational excellence in air freight.”
Arjan Meijer, president and chief executive of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said: “This order is a testament to the outstanding capabilities of our E-Freighter platform. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Regional One and supporting their growth in the cargo sector.”
