Earlier today, SWISS flight LX1413 from Belgrade to Zurich had to make an emergency landing in Friedrichshafen due to smoke onboard.
Information has been released pertinent to the incident at hand.
Without further ado, here is what we know on this incident so far.
SWISS Flight LX1413 – Belgrade to Zurich…
SWISS flight LX1413, which made the emergency landing due to smoke onboard, is a routine scheduled flight between Belgrade & Zurich.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was HB-JCA.
As per data from Planespotters.netHB-JCA is a 8.2 year old Airbus A220-300 that was delivered to the airline back in May 2017.
Of the A220-300 variant, SWISS has 21 of them in their fleet.
Moreover, of that 21, 17 are in active service, and four are parked, with an average fleet age of 7.2 years.

SWISS flight LX1413, which made the emergency landing in Friedrichshafen due to smoke onboard, departed Belgrade at 0939 local time this morning (July 7), bound for Zurich.
Just as the aircraft entered German airspace, the aircraft squawked 7700, the emergency broadcast.
From there, a rapid descent was commenced, with Friedrichshafen chosen as the diversion field.
After an hour and 28 minutes in the air, the aircraft landed safely without further incident.

As per The Aviation Heraldit is understood that the aircraft suffered a significant technical failure onboard.
SWISS flight LX1413 Belgrade-Zurich, which made the emergency landing in Friedrichshafen suffered some fault messages in the cockpit, which is understood to have resulted in smoke emitting in the cabin.
It is understood that the air conditioning units on the aircraft are the focus of the investigation following the landing.
At the time of publication, HB-JCA appears to be still on the ground at the German airport, as per Airnav radar.
Furthermore, it is unclear how long the aircraft will be grounded for.
As soon as the faults and causes are fixed, a test flight may occur if necessary.
Once maintenance technicians are happy, then the aircraft can continue on to Zurich, the home base of SWISS.
