In the last few hours, a United Airlines flight from Columbus made an emergency landing into it’s destination of Houston.
Information is limited surrounding the incident at hand, but below is what we know on this so far.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
United Airlines Flight UA2205 – Columbus to Houston…
United Airlines flight UA2205, which made the emergency landing, is a routine scheduled flight between Columbus and Houston.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was N32404.
As per data from Planespotters.netN32404 is a 24.0 year old Boeing 737-900 that started out life with Continental Airlines back in July 2001.
Following the merger, the aircraft was handed over to the UA registry in October 2010.
Of the standard 737-900 variant, United Airlines has just 12 of them in their fleet.
Moreover, all 12 are in active service, with an average fleet age of 23.8 years.

United Airlines flight UA2205, which made the emergency landing, departed Columbus at 1010 local time on July 7, bound for Houston.
Everything was normal in the flight until during the descent phase into it’s destination.
The aircraft all of a sudden declared an emergency via the 7700 squawk code and calls to air traffic control.
From there, the aircraft acquired priority to land into Houston, which it did so after two hours and one minute in the air.
The Reason for the Emergency?: Cabin Pressurisation Problems…

As per @FlightEmergency on Xit is understood the reason for the emergency onboard United Airlines flight UA2205 Columbus-Houston was due to a cabin pressurisation problem.
It is unclear whether there was a full decompression in the cabin, or whether there was a technical issue at hand, which had risk to deteriorate.
UA2205 was the only flight of today so far that the aircraft ended up operating.
Based on data from Airnav radarthe aircraft appears to be grounded for the rest of the day, and will return to commercial service tomorrow operating the following flights:
- UA320 – Houston (IAH) to Columbus.
- UA725 – Columbus to Houston.
- UA2060 – IAH to Las Vegas.
