Dakota Johnson finally got fed up and moved on. That’s the story, and at least one source is sticking to it.
Of course, the actress reportedly just broke up with Coldplay rocker Chris Martin — whom she’d been dating in an on-again, off-again relationship since 2017. According to a flurry of news that has been flying around in the last week, this breakup really feels final. Guess we’ll see about that, of course, since the duo was rumored to have called it quits back in June 2019 only to keep going strong, and then pushed through even more breakup rumors last year.
But this time around, everybody is saying it feels different. And now, a new source speaking to Page Six is shedding even more light on that exact angle. So, when previous insiders have claimed the split feels “final this time,” uh, they might just be right.

OK, so this new source explained that the Fifty Shades Of Grey star straight-up got sick of the rock music legend consistently pushing off a date for their wedding! And that’s (partially) why it ended! In fact, Martin hesitating to schedule that knot-tying venture was what really put Dakota off of the entire thing, the insider claims:
“She was sick of him dragging his feet on setting a date for the wedding.”
And that’s not all!!!
The source also revealed that DJ was looking further into the future, past the point of marriage. According to this mole, the 35-year-old actress also seriously disagreed with Martin about children. That is, she wanted ’em, and he didn’t want any more of ’em! The source explained:
“They broke up over Chris Martin not wanting to have more kids.”
Of course, the Yellow singer has two children with his ex, Gwyneth Paltrow. And he’s 48 years old at this point, so perhaps he just wasn’t down to do the dad thing one more time. Dakota, FWIW, doesn’t have any children. But that’s a serious thing, and certainly enough to cause a major rift. Ugh!
