Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a SATS company, has secured Cargo iQ certification for its air cargo handling operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia (EMEAA).
The certification spans around 50 major airport stations in 13 countries, including the UK, Germany, France, India, and South Africa.
Cargo iQ, an IATA-supported initiative, promotes industry-wide quality standards through shipment planning and performance monitoring based on a common Master Operating Plan (MOP).
WFS demonstrated compliance through integrated quality processes, milestone tracking for both exports and imports, and staff training to ensure operational consistency.
WFS is part of the SATS Group, whose combined network covers over 215 stations in 27 countries, handling routes that account for over half of global air cargo volumes.
John Dowds, senior vice president of service delivery – EMEA at WFS, said: “Gaining Cargo iQ certification across our EMEAA region reinforces WFS and SATS’ commitment to improving our service quality and performance for our customers. Our full compliance with Cargo iQ’s processes allows us to standardise our approach across all our stations in the region and to deliver service levels our customers know and recognise.”
Dowds added: “By implementing the Cargo iQ processes, we monitor our export and import operations in accordance with our customer SLAs in a live environment using the warehouse management screens in our facilities. This enables our warehouse managers to monitor performance in real-time and, when necessary, to reallocate resources or reprioritise tasks to meet customer targets.”
